Fellow Racers:
Thanks for all the positive comments regarding our first club meeting of the year. While the minutes are currently being assembled, several issues requiring action at our next meeting should be discussed by the general community.
The club racing schedule was approved without objection, with the exception of our X-Ray race date. Without releasing specifics, the club has approximately 2 races each month from April though October. We will be partnering with TZR and IBEW Local 48 for these dates and will have our King's Kruz-In event at Glenwood Community Church.
Four possible dates were discussed regarding the X-Ray event. These were May 8th, June 12th, June 26th and October 2nd. My take on these days is as follows. The June dates have conflicts with the IBEW Poker Run and the scheduled TZR race for June. The May and October dates are questionable in terms of weather, however, the October date provides the most time to prepare and is about equal in terms of rain risk. This question will be voted on by the membership at our next club meeting.
Officer elections were opened for nominations. Those nominated will be given a chance to campaign with elections being held at our next meeting. Additionally, the club Treasurer will be retained for another year, easing the transition of leadership and insuring our financial position. Currently all positions are running unopposed. Any club members still interested in leadership positions can self nominate before elections.

A work party was scheduled for March 20th to prepare our equipment for the race season. I have contacted Jim Meyer at Oakgrove Autobody about hosting this event and he has agreed. This work party will also serve as our next club meeting. Please spread the word and watch the threads for more information.
Lastly, I would like to clarify some of my comments at the meeting. Having been around this club for over a decade, I have witnessed many racers entry and exit of our sport. The most disheartening thing is when a hardworking officer leaves because their previously fun hobby has become just more work. I have been president for 2 years, and in that time have enjoyed watching the club maintain it's position as a self supporting, racer driven entity committed to on-road rc racing. I believe leadership must rotate and change if we are to continue this direction. Having one president for years is not a healthy club situation, and does not support the individual enthusiast. To my supporters over the last 2 seasons, thanks for believing in me. To everyone, I'm not going away. My plan is to be there with continued commitment and passion for the sport.
See you ONROAD,
Godson
